DEVELOPMENT CLUB FOR ESTONIAN-ENGLISH LANGUAGE FRIENDSHIP
The main goal of the activity is to develop a child's skills in Estonian and English, enabling them to use these languages in everyday life. To ensure successful communication in Estonian and English with peers of the same age and prepare for future learning, we consider it essential to professionally support the child's mental, physical, and social development. We apply integrated development and learning processes in Estonian and English in a stress-free and friendly environment.
To achieve these goals, general education and playful, active teaching methods are used. We emphasize the integration of various activities, incorporate behavior education into every day, and implement anti-bullying prevention measures.
The objectives of the Estonian-English language interest group are:
to teach children to actively listen to and understand everyday speech in Estonian/English;
to acquire correct pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm;
to build a vocabulary that allows the child to express themselves in everyday communication;
to encourage children to communicate in Estonian/English.
Learning takes place through games, speech practice, role-play, dialogue, and group work.
The main form of teaching is purposeful and integrated activity with defined educational goals. Depending on the subject, various forms of teaching are used (lessons, games, open lessons, field trips, outdoor learning, etc.). Teaching can also be organized outside the hobby school premises.
The teaching process is based on the principle of general education, which relies on the integration of subjects. In planning and organizing learning and educational activities, the following activities are integrated: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and observing.
